Casual Male Goes Live with QuantiSense
Casual Male Retail Group implemented QuantiSenses retail-specific business intelligence and data warehousing application in its Casual Male XL and Rochester Big & Tall clothing chains.
QuantiSense includes a Retail Learning Infrastructure that allows Casual Male to track stockouts, overstocks and imminent stockouts from a granular level to a summary level. The solution consists of personalized dashboards, exception reporting to pinpoint problems and opportunities and QuantiSense Playbooks, which capture retail best practices.
"QuantiSense delivered on our expectations - and more - in 100 days. The software intuitively drives our users towards intelligent action," said Dennis Hernreich, COO of Casual Male. "I've been working hands-on with QuantiSense, and its flexibility and performance have allowed us to analyze and improve the key elements of our business that really make a difference to our customers."

Analytics Centre Stage at Royal Shakespeare Company
The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) is helping boost audiences at productions with analytics software from KXEN.
The software was used to identify specific audience segments and patterns of attendance behavior, helping the RSC design targeted marketing programs.
The initiative, an Accenture-led program to segment audiences, saw a 50 percent rise in ticket buyers at RSC's Stratford-upon-Avon theatre, a more than 70 percent increase in regular attendees and significantly earlier sell-outs for London bookings.
"KXEN software is unique in its ability to readily handle large numbers of variables and this enabled us to easily fine-tune the segmentation process," says Mary Butlin, the RSC'S head of market planning. "The beauty of KXEN is that the segmentation falls out of the data naturally. It is far more insightful than us taking a guess at what might work. Now we know what will work and we can plan campaigns with real confidence."
Siemens Decides on Visual Rules for Its Route Management
Siemens IT Solutions and Services PSE chose the Visual Rules Business Rules Management System (BRMS) from Innovations to implement business rules in ROMAN.
ROMAN, the Siemens route management system, provides answers to challenges rail companies face. ROMAN allows them to design the entire schedule planning process for a number of countries. ROMAN can be adapted to each railway's specific requirements and infrastructure.
Visual Rules allows ROMAN customers to separate business rules from technical application logic.
RealTime Services Deploys DataCores SANmelody
RealTime Services, a service and support company for small staffing firms, deployed DataCore Softwares SANmelody for its online transaction processing application that supports payroll services for clients.
SANmelody supports the companys Microsoft cluster environment, which includes SQL database and Exchange email servers.
In a batch environment the traditional storage array approach probably would have been fine, said Jeff Sabotin, IT director, RealTime Services. However, this application supports our growing client base and increased online usage. The storage array was slowing down our database quite severely.
