Commonwealth of Kentucky Selects WebFOCUS

 

To meet its budgetary requirements, the Commonwealth of Kentucky selected WebFOCUS as the foundation of a new business intelligence (BI) system - Financial Analysis System2 (FAS2).

 

WebFOCUS provides a platform for financial reporting and analysis, giving state employees the insight they need for financial planning, budgeting and control.

 

“The education services were an important aspect of our success, particularly given our aggressive implementation schedule,” said Lori Thorell, a project manager in the office of the controller for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. “We had to get up to speed quickly to meet our deployment deadline, and Information Builders got us started down the right path.”

 

Indiana PERF Adopts WebFOCUS

 

Indiana Public Employees’ Retirement Fund (PERF), a government agency that serves the needs of more than 220,000 public employees and retirees throughout Indiana, adopted WebFocus to improve financial reporting.

 

As a public institution managing $17 billion in pension funds, PERF is closely scrutinized by government institutions, employers and members and the public.

 

“WebFOCUS is our tool of choice not just for retirement reports, but for all administrative, financial and operational reporting going forward,” said David Huffman deputy director and chief technology officer at Indiana PERF.

 

RealTime Services Deploys DataCore’s SANmelody 

 

RealTime Services, a service and support company for small staffing firms, deployed DataCore Software’s SANmelody for the mission-critical online transaction processing (OLTP) application that supports payroll services for RealTime’s clients.

 

SANmelody supports the company’s Microsoft cluster environment, which includes SQL database and Exchange email servers.

 

“In a batch environment the traditional storage array approach probably would have been fine,” said Jeff Sabotin, IT director, RealTime Services. “However, this application supports our growing client base and increased online usage.”

 

Broxap Uses Invu EDM and Kodak Solution

 

Broxap Ltd., a manufacturer of street furniture and associated products, installed Invu's electronic document management (EDM) system and two Kodak i160 desktop scanners to provide a company-wide solution to manage all client related paperwork.

 

Linking to its customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, it enables staff to provide improved service to customers.

 

"We've supplied 10,000 cycle stands to Transport for London, the Royal Ascot band stand and kennels to the Ministry of Defence. You won't necessarily realize it, but when you walk down pretty much any UK high street, Broxap will be there," said Simon Ellis, Broxap's graphics studio manager.

 

Ubisoft Picks Sonasoft for Data Protection and Disaster Recovery

 

Ubisoft, a leading publishers of video games, successfully implemented Sonasoft's SonaSafe solution to protect Microsoft SQL servers.

 

Sonasoft provides a one-stop shop for the backup, high availability and disaster recovery needs.

 

"We were looking for an affordable solution to protect our databases. We tested many products and selected Sonasoft's SonaSafe solution because replication is done on a data level and it verifies/validates data before applying on the target database. Sonasoft's solution provides both data protection and disaster recovery at one fourth of the cost. Sonasoft provides excellent customer service," said Amir Shafi, senior manager, business applications at Ubisoft.
